EVERYBODY GARDENS: THERAPEUTIC HORTICULTURE @ RUSSELLTON COMMUNITY GARDEN

🌻🦋 Garden Update 🐝🌱

Today, Fronds and Family was delighted to welcome Debbie from CARES of Western PA, Inc., along with her team of V.I.P.s—Katie, Deirdre, and Cameron! We shared a wonderful therapeutic horticulture session exploring seeds of many sizes, smelling the herbs that are growing in the garden, and learning how to sow and water different types of fruit and veggie seeds.

Together, we planted butternut squash, summer squash, cantaloupe, Sugar Baby watermelon, parsley, and two varieties of bush beans. A huge Thank You to the anonymous donor who generously left these wonderful seeds for us!

Our V.I.P.s also helped tidy the donation areas, weed garden beds, and they did some serious heavy lifting - Thank You for your hard work and enthusiasm!

🌱 We could really use your help:
We are in urgent need of soil to top up our tire beds and fill raised beds so we can continue planting food for the community. Soil donations—and additional volunteers—are very welcome!

📅 Join us next Wednesday, 6/24, from 10 AM–2 PM for EVERYBODY GARDENS, our free, drop-in therapeutic horticulture program for the Russellton community & beyond!
